Interesting experience...they give you a certain amount of hours with each student, determined by the government (they're being funded by NCLB), and in that amount of time I was asked to help 5 students who knew nothing; 3 of them made 10% improvements, with a fourth she went from knowing nothing to knowing a little bit, which, since she was 12, meant I was infinitely better than all her other prior tutors and teachers combined (she was severely, severely retarded). But then, despite what they had said at orientation, they didn't furnish new students and tried to cover up when pressed; at some point they did give me two new students, one of whose parents had requested a female tutor. Good job for a limited time and without relying on the company, but administratively rather disorganized.
Also the pay scale...should not have a difference between those with Masters degrees and those without. I'm more educated and smarter than anyone, Masters or not, and should be paid like it. I'm angry that I haven't been so far.
