My husband and I hired ALF to help with our loan modification. We had contacted our lender 6months prior and triedto do the process on our own. With out much power to get things done, the next step was to hire a lawyer. October 2009 was when we hired the law firm. Everything was great until January 2010 when it seems that the law firm decided not to care anymore. We were shuffled off to 4 different people and no one knew what they were talking about. Once an offer came through in June 2010, I called our case manager at the law firm and the number was disconnected. It took almost 4 days for me to finally get ahold of someone. It was then that I was told we had yet another case manager and she would get back to me. Mind you, we had a deadline to tell our lender our decision on our offer. The modification that was offered was not much better then our current situation so we decided not to take it. Once I informed the law firm of our choice and told them we wanted our $4,500.00 retainer back (that we had an agreement in our contract would be returned if our financial situation was not bettered by a modification) they told me I would be contacted in regards to this. 3 months later and no phone call or letter, I called and talked to the receptionist and she told me it was under review and I should be receiving a letter in the mail with the decision they made in regards to a refund. 4 Months later we finally received a denial letter for a refund, only after my husband and I sent a certified letter to the law firm with a copy of our contract.
DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM....All they want is your money and they do not help you at all. I got more accomplished by doing it myself, then by having their "so called representation"
