I was scheduled to departed LAX 10/09/09 COPA 303 to SDQ. I arrived at the airport at 2200 hrs and was advised the flight was cancelled. COPA had 2 reps working the ticket counter for over a hundred passengers. I waited in line for almost 8 hrs and did not make it to the front of the line. I called COPA while standing in the line and told them what occurred. Initially they didn't even know the flight was cancelled. After receiving confirmation, they said they could not help me out only the front counter could. COPA reps placed me on a hold 4x almost 2 hrs each time and eventually disconnected me or told me they could not assist me. They even had the nerves to request additional funds to book another carrier which codeshares with them. COPA reps on the phone were rude, refused to issue me a refund and their wait and see if he hang up tactics are appalling. I came back home and called them again, waited on the phone for 1hr35min for a rep to tell me she could get me to Panama where I would be stuck because she doesn't show any flights leaving Panama to Santo Domingo. How absurd?! She refused to issue me a refund and instead offered a credit minus a penalty fee. At the time of this report, the flight has been delayed again and COPA refuses to assist me. DO NOT FLY WITH COPA AIRLINES....
