Dreadful!

I don't enjoy giving anyone a negative review, but I just don't have anything good to say about Eagle Ridge Gymnastics. Our children have been in preschool, rec, and team programs at ERG, and I never really felt that they were given individualized challenges, or individualized help with skills. The classes were taught as if everyone was always on the same page, needing exactly the same skills, and with any group of children that is just never the case. Also, there was NO emphasis on team building or encouraging the children to support each other. There seems to be an unequal emphasis on the boy's competitive program, leaving the girl's program to flounder. My biggest complaint however, was the lack of communication between the parents and staff. At ERG, parents are highly discouraged from taking any part in observing their children at practice, discussing the children's progress, or anything else for that matter. If you dare attempt to communicate with the staff, you get blown off. If you ask any questions, you are given a rushed answer, and usually only a partial answer at that. They do NOT want to hear parental feedback, opinions, or ideas. I don't know if this is because they are uncomfortable dealing with parents, if they think we don't matter, or if they just have no clue that their actions are sending this message, but it comes off as unprofessionalism and disrespect, and these are things I just don't tolerate when it comes to my children. We have since left ERG, and have found another fabulous gym in the Rio Rancho area. Don't waste your time with ERG, shop around and find a program that truly cares about your children and challenges them as the unique individual that they are.
