Review 1/24/2008
I had some experience with foxconn since I bought one of its motherboard from newegg in Dec. 2007. It was a very frustrating experience. In short, BE VERY CAREFUL if you want to buy anything with Mail In Rebate (MIR) from them. They have very unfair policies related to products with MIR. First, they ask you to send in MIR in 15 days of sale. Including shipping, you might not have time to check the quality of the product before sending in MIR. Second, if you send in MIR, you are trapped if the product is defective. You can not return for refund either from reseller or from foxconn. You can only do replacement. You need to pay one way shipping even it is defective. If they somehow find that the part is fine, they will send the part back to you and charge you shipping and handling fees. I think that if the replacement is defective again, you need to pay at least one way shipping again. Third, they do not have contact numbers. You can only contact them with emails, for which you can easily wait for 2 or 3 days without knowing what is going on. I finally decided not to file a complaint against foxconn, but to newegg, the reseller of foxconn product. Instead, I post this review here. Hopefully, it is helpful for other people considering buying parts with MIR from foxconn. The RMA policies from foxcon are as follows. You can make your own judgement. btw, I tried to fill out the RMA form, which is very difficult to understand. The policies n the event that our product is defective due to a manufacturing defect, we will replace our product and cover the shipping charges one way via: UPS Ground. If faster carrier service is required, please provide UPS or FedEx account number. If however our products test out OK (non-manufacturing defect with our equipment) the customer will be contacted for shipping charge to have it returned back to them. Shipping charge is a flat fee of $15.00 US Dollars per unit for continental United States (Canada $30.00, Alaska and Hawaii $20). Payment options are either Paypal or check payable to CasEdge (must clear before shipment). For more information about Paypal refer to www.paypal.com. This is an interactive form; please fill it out using Acrobat and print it out or WRITE LEGIBLY. Securely pack the board in a sturdy box. Include in the box: a. Our product. b. A COPY of the completed Evaluation form c. A COPY of your sales invoice from where it was purchased. d. A COPY of this email message thread. e. Fee if clearance or "as is" item. Do NOT include the product CD, manual, and other accessories. Do NOT include any of your hardware - CPU, cooler, etc. Send the package to: Foxconn Channel Service Division Attn: FD08100852 // Rick Heang x 206 458 East Lambert Road Dock 10 Fullerton, CA 92835
