This collection agency was fishing around and found I had defaulted on my student loans. They picked up the case. I was served with papers BUT they had not included the top page of the summons to tell me the date and which courthouse. I called them. I spoke to Nancy (I think). She actually laughed at me! She said and I quote ‘you want ME to help you’. Needless to say they got the case from the judge. I found a legal aid company to help me. We filed to have the case heard as I was paying $200/month on a $1500 social security. Goldsmith & Hull changed the courthouse and sent the notice to the “wrong” address - by mistake of course…. We only found out when we arrived at the courthouse! My case went to LA . I never heard another thing!
