In stock item "are really hard to find units", that is why the delay. Thus, they don't have stock, but will take your money.
WARNING *** Negative review, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE! I wish I had done more research about these people and read the reviews here. I am so ashamed now! I bought a discontinued Tyan motherboard from these people on the 11 October 2012. My Chinese copy had died. PC Planet web-site said that they had the motherboard, I even wrote to them to check prior to buying so as to be sure that the page was up to date - that they had the item in stock. They wrote back and said "> Those units take 5 to 8 business days to be shipped out to you". That gave me the confidence to give them my money. Normally when shopping online the seller will respond once or twice with info on how the order is going 'received', 'processing', 'dispatched', etc, but I received nothing so I wrote on 15 October asking and thinking aloud that 'I should fear the worst'. Their reply said "Your order it is currently processing, as mentioned in our products page those units take 5 to 8 business days to be shipped out" That's the part I could not understand, if they have the item, why does it take 8 business days to be shipped? Unless they are buying from someone else. But I had searched www.taobao.com [the Chinese eBay style site - but only deal in Chinese - so an agent is required] and there were no new boards at the same price. PC Planet says "OEM PACKAGING" which says to me = NEW. The page says about shipping "Usually 5 to 8 Business Days in Warehouse in China", but PC Planet then say all items are sent to USA before being shipped to customer eg "Your order will be shipped out from our location in California," I would say that this is to hide their agents name off the packaging, and this is possibly the reason that postage is so high, we the customer pay for both directions. On November 1 PC planet wrote to me (after I wrote to them again) to say that my item had been posted "Your order number 14123 has shipped " On November 12 I wrote again asking where my item was, (8 business days had passed). I wrote again on November 29 and got the following reply "> We have shipped out your motherboard in the time we mentioned earlier, We will reship another unit to you today in order to show that we are not a company that does not honor our commitments, but keep in mind we did shipped out your motherboard before, also you need to understand those units have been discontinued several years ago and they are almost non existant." Like others before me they are implying that I should not expect this motherboard too quickly because they aren't made any more. I only bought from them because they said they had the board, but now its my fault for ordering a discontinued board??? Their reply "We never mentioned it was your fault, we just stated that unit has been discontrinued for several years and are really hard to find units We sent a request to have another unit shipped." ??? " are really hard to find units"???? - but you said you had it in stock - so they lied to me?! So what they are saying is that they will search for the item, but pay us first for it and we will send it when we find one, [which the website now says could take 90 days - I suppose that is 90 business days??] I wrote again to them on 30 December 2012 after having not received either motherboard. The USPS tracking number says that the item was registered electronically, there is no pickup or airport departure info. Actually the $150 postage is twice what I calculated it to be, and my calculations show a 10day maximum to Australia. I bought in October thinking that I would mis the Xmas postal crunch, so now that I have waited 4wks since the second posting I may have a couple more weeks to wait to get through the Xmas backlog.
