I truly hope this review helps someone....I apologize for the length but this is exactly what I posted on my complaints with BBB, FTC and any consumer protection link I could find.
This was an article on Foxnews.com for an opportunity to trial teeth whitening products from CleanWhites and Dazzle Smile. The Dazzle Smile seems like a true trial but they are tied together. The "supposed" article states to try the Dazzle Smile and then the Clean Whites - IF YOU DO THIS in the timeframe suggested by the article, by the time you try the Clean Whites, they probably will have already charged your card $79.95. I went back to the website and the little block below the article says "WS6alert" which makes you think it's coming from a consumer group within the FOX News website and a consumer tip for you, but if you look lower it says "Advertisement" which is pretty slick willy! Usually the "Advertisement" is required within the AD. When you click on the web link, it actually is in the ad, but you have to look very hard, and if you scroll down to read the article, you definitely won't see it. And while WS6alert looks like a consumer website - it is NOT, it is the advertisement for this trial which references BOTH DAZZLE SMILE AND CLEAN WHITEs. I wish I'd done my homework FIRST,
I read it carefully and placed an order - within 10 minutes I received a phone call from each company to confirm the orders separately, these calls were recorded. I confirmed with them that I was not being charged or signed up for anything additional. They tried to get me to sign up for 5 different programs for "FREE" which I declined - and then confirmed again that I was not being signed up for any offers and wanted to confirm that the "sample/trail I did order would be the only charge to my account - they said "Yes." I received the packages some time last week, and yesterday noticed a charge on my ATM/Visa account for $79.95 from HEALTHCLNS which I didn't recognize, when I entered that name on Google, up came various complaints from consumers. I immediately called the 877# and spoke with "Romolo, employee# 2234" and was advised that I signed up for a 14 day trial at $79.95. I advised him that I did not, and that I had confirmed this during the "recorded" confirmation phone call. He said that there was nothing he could do. I told him that I wished to stay on the phone until he could get a supervisor because I had NO intention of paying them $79.95. I was put on hold several times, each time stating she wasn't available yet - I think he finally realized I wasn't going to get off and so after about the 5th time putting me on hold he said he could offer me 2 options, 1) they would provide a UPS return label for $6.95 or they would do a partial refund of $40 and I could keep the product. I told him that I hadn't used the product and would return it for the complete refund of $79.95 but that I had my own UPS account which I would use to return the product. I did this, so that I could return it and get a signed confirmation of receipt. I have also called my bank and will be disputing this if the credit does not come through. They are really taking advantage of people here - I didn't think I was gullible, confirming along the way that I was not being signed up for additional "freebie's" and I was taken to the bank so to say - Please stop these people - if I had not persisted, they may have just taken my $79.95 and either continued to charge, or maybe canceled my order - but in the meantime they make $80 a hit.... I have since seen emails as well... I should have researched this first but thought I'd read the fine print!
